WHY THE AZTEC 10 COMPETITION?
The Aztec 10 Photographic competition and exhibition has been created to celebrate Aztec Group's ten years in Jersey.
To celebrate this landmark we have launched Aztec 10, a photographic competition for individuals looking to push their creative boundaries and capture striking images that encapsulate one or a combination of our three brand themes: Bright. Alternative. Ten. Our aim is to capture the imagination of the local community to help us celebrate our milestone, culminating with an exhibition at Aztec Group House that will be open to the public during the week and give budding local amateur photographers the chance to have their work exhibited.
Through the competition, Aztec also hope to raise a little bit of money for three local charities through the sale of prints from the exhibition. As the photographer, you get to nominate one of our three local charities to benefit, with your agreement, from sales of your photograph.
There are plenty of prizes to win including a fantastic four day photographic course in Scotland and other cash prizes. Any questions or queries about Aztec10 please email enquiries@aztec10.co.uk.
What are we looking for from entrants?

Bright.
You might choose to work within the single theme of "Bright", a theme that is at the heart of the Aztec Group brand.
Direction on the theme: Bright is an effect or sensation by means of which an observer is able to distinguish differences in luminance. This theme can incorporate an object which truly stands out from its environment through obvious differentiation. It can be interpreted as something which defines a quality that outshines the usual. Bright can be expressed through various means, colour or intelligence, something vivid or brilliant.

Alternative.
You might choose to work within the single theme of "Alternative", a theme that is encapsulates Aztec's approach to business.
Direction on the theme: Alternative could be an image which defies what is normal or standard, possibly something which is not what we expect. Alternative can be non-traditional or unconventional, it can demonstrate more than one option, an alternative choice. It can reflect values that are different from those of the mainstream.

Ten.
You might choose to work within the single theme of "Ten", reflecting our age as a business.
Direction on the theme: 10 is a number which has many uses throughout the world. Try exploring its use in different cultures - in cultural beliefs, representations of the number and its connotations. In both mathematics and the sciences, the number has various meanings which will provide an interesting starting point (for instance, 10 is the atomic number of neon). 10 will also provide an interesting challenge for composition.

TOPA little bit about Aztec.
The Aztec Group is an independent, owner-managed fund administrator founded in Jersey in 2001. The Aztec Group considers itself the bright alternative in the grey world of fund administration. We aspire to drive forward the standards in our industry and deliver something different to our clients. In ten years, the Group has grown to over 100 staff in four jurisdictions, Jersey, Guernsey, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. Not bad for homegrown talent!
